Metal Finisher / Belt Grinder
About The Position
We are hiring Metal Finishers / Belt Grinders to join a busy metal fabrication and manufacturing operation in Dover, PA. This is a hands-on production role focused on improving the surface quality and appearance of fabricated metal components. You will use belt grinding and finishing equipment to remove imperfections, smooth rough areas, deburr edges, and prepare metal parts for the next stage of production or final finishing. This position is a good fit for someone with experience in metal finishing, grinding, polishing, deburring, fabrication, or other hands-on manufacturing work.
Requirements
- Comfortable working with hand-operated grinding and finishing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to identify surface imperfections and produce a consistent finish
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Dependable and able to work effectively in a production environment
- Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Able to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team

Responsibilities
- Operate belt grinders to finish fabricated metal parts and components
- Grind and smooth metal surfaces to remove imperfections
- Remove burrs, rough edges, scratches, and other surface defects
- Polish and finish metal parts to meet required appearance and quality standards
- Visually inspect parts before and after finishing
- Handle fabricated metal components safely throughout the production process
- Identify and report defects or quality concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow established production, quality, and safety procedures
- Work with other members of the production and finishing teams to keep work moving efficiently
