About The Position
Microwave Techniques is seeking a Utility Metal Finisher to join their team in Gorham. This position plays a critical role in the machining and manufacture of precision high-end products by working with a variety of tools and techniques. Microwave Techniques, located in Gorham, Maine, is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of advanced RF and microwave solutions, serving a broad range of industrial, scientific, medical, defense, semiconductor, aerospace, food processing, plasma, materials processing, communications, and research applications. Their Gorham operations design and manufacture RF and microwave circulators, isolators, ferrite components, waveguide and coaxial passive components, and custom RF and microwave engineering solutions. Microwave Techniques LLC is a subsidiary of The Elmet Group (ELMT), a publicly traded company.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Performs activities requiring sustained concentration, and visual acuity.
Responsibilities
- Deburring, sanding, and blending - polishing parts using hand tools, air and power tools.
- Lapping flange faces flat
- Tumble parts
- Sandblasting using a cabinet sandblaster
- Use tank farm in cleaning parts for secondary operation and prior to assembly and paint
- Apply surface finishes to aluminum, brass, copper and stainless steel
- Clean and wash parts
- Some light assembly
- Maintain tools used and work area is in a clean and orderly condition.
- Able to manage multiple projects and activities concurrently to achieve desired outcomes.
- Has high attention to detail
- Responsible for contributing to a safe work environment by operating machinery in its intended manner, notifying proper individuals of an unsafe machine or work area
- Supports multiple areas of production in a fast-paced environment
- Accepting ownership and accountability for one’s position responsibilities and as an employee of Microwave Techniques
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership
