About The Position

We are seeking individuals to join our 2nd shift Cleaning Room team as Metal Grinders. This role involves efficiently utilizing proper casting finishing practices and techniques to satisfy customer and subsequent process operations, including grinding castings of advanced complexity. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work and communicate well with others
Ability to follow instructions
Legible handwriting
Keep a neat and clean work area.

Nice To Haves

Detail oriented
Good with finishing tools like pneumatic and electric hand tools - grinder, dynafile, etc.

Responsibilities

Straightening castings and finish grinding casting to customer specifications.
Sort castings into batches to be sequenced through the department.
Work as part of a team towards producing Quality parts to production standards.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper safe working condition.
Perform minor maintenance on grinders – cleaning, replacing discs, belts, etc.
Learn to use various hand tools.
Learn to read technical documents.
Learn to use various measuring instruments.
Work to posted standards and instructions.
Straighten, gauge and patch when necessary to meet specifications.
Inspect parts to posted instructions.
Learn gross casting defects and be able to identify them, informing the lead person or supervisor immediately.
Follow all health and safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
