About The Position

As a temporary Merit Reviewer supporting our Federal government client, you will be trusted to provide the merit review of applications submitted for a grant program focused on deployment and adoption of broadband service on Tribal Land and for programs that promote the use of broadband to access remote learning, telework, or telehealth resources. Merit reviewers shall be available to conduct reviews mid-December 2026 through spring 2027.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or has equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of consulting and/or directly relevant industry experience
  • Technical understanding and two or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Deployment of fiber, wireless, satellite, or similar telecommunications technology
  • Broadband network design and/or engineering
  • Distance learning, telehealth, telework, and/or workforce development program design and/or implementation
  • Digital inclusion program design and/or implementation
  • Similar technical background or expertise to those listed above
  • US citizenship and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability

Nice To Haves

  • Direct exposure and/or participation with financial assistance programs (i.e., Federal, State, local, Tribal), including but not limited to policy development, execution, and grants administration
  • Previous experience with Native American, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian communities

Responsibilities

  • Provide a thorough, consistent, and independent examination of an application based on pre-established criteria by persons knowledgeable in the field of endeavor for which support is requested
  • Conduct the review impartially, objectively, and in an unbiased manner
  • Evaluate or assess a proposal for its value, quality, and likelihood of success
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the efficient completion of reviews to meet stringent deadlines
  • Responsible for quality assurance practices and fostering completion and accuracy of tasks
  • Attend all required trainings; all trainings will be provided by the project team
