About The Position

The Merchant Payment Services (MPS) Risk Advisory role is tasked with providing risk support to the MPS North America revenue organization. This individual will build strong relationships with the respective teams, including leadership, as well as other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals and managers to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations. The Risk Advisor's primary responsibilities will be to ensure their assigned areas have an adequate control framework in place and is working within those boundaries and is also responsible for training different levels and new staff as assigned. This position typically interacts directly with senior managers requiring an advanced level of presentation, relationship building and negotiation skills. This position may also have occasional exposure to regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than six years of applicable experience
  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
  • Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
  • Applicable professional certifications

Responsibilities

  • Providing risk support to the MPS North America revenue organization.
  • Building strong relationships with respective teams, including leadership, and other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals and managers to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
