About The Position

This internship program is designed for individuals who have completed a Summer 2026 Walmart or Sam's Club internship and are looking to enter a Merchandising Leadership Rotation Program in 2027. The role involves coordinating, completing, and overseeing job-related activities, managing projects, developing associates, and ensuring compliance with company policies. It emphasizes respect for individuals, acting with integrity, serving customers, and striving for excellence. The program aims to develop future leaders in merchandising by providing diverse experiences and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE COMPLETED A SUMMER 2026 WALMART OR SAMS CLUB INTERNSHIP TO BE ELIGIBLE.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and 2 years’ experience in business management, merchandising, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in business management, merchandising, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Manages projects by building project plans, assigning projects and tasks to associates, scheduling projects, documenting project scope, developing scorecards and metrics, developing short and long-term plans, overseeing projects from start to completion, and completing projects in accordance with agreed-upon timelines.
  • Manages the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance, providing resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress, and adjusting performance accordingly, developing contingency plans, and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
  • Manages the development of associates by providing training and support, monitoring associates' growth, sharing key learning, providing feedback and coaching on performance, providing input on performance appraisals, selecting team members, and ensuring associates have the knowledge and skills necessary to advance.
  • Manages support to internal customers by reviewing project requests and project plans, analyzing data, driving solutions to business problems and store processes, providing feedback on operational processes, and providing recommendations for system changes and overall process changes.
  • Prioritizes and executes key business strategies and communication platforms by managing cross-functional initiatives that impact store and corporate processes, managing merchandising programs and initiatives, customer and company communications, and associate training content, making recommendations for system support developments, recommending merchandise priorities, providing insight to senior management and other business partners on key issues and opportunities to drive the business, and translating merchandise strategies for assigned departments into executable programs.
