About The Position
TJX Companies is offering a Summer Internship Program focused on Merchandising at their Corporate Home Office in Framingham, MA. This program provides interns with classroom and on-the-job training to understand a career in Merchandising, which includes Planning & Allocation and Buying. The role involves analyzing sales trends, creating allocation strategies, accompanying Buyers on vendor visits, analyzing product mix in stores, and resolving merchandise issues. The internship is designed for students to gain experience in a dynamic retail environment within a Fortune 100 company.
Requirements
- Current Sophomores & Juniors
- Genuine interest in a career in Corporate Retail / Merchandising
- Genuine interest in retail, Merchandising Career Path, product, and following trends
- Sense of curiosity for an ever-changing retail landscape
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent communicators who work well in teams
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including Excel (i.e., pivot tables, charts, v-look up, etc.)
- Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems
- Proven leadership abilities and a strong work ethic
- Detail oriented
Responsibilities
- Analyze sales trends and reports to anticipate consumer buying patterns and product trends
- Create and implement allocation strategies for our stores and / or e-commerce sites
- Accompany Buyers on local, virtual, or on-site vendor visits
- Strategize with Buyers before vendor visits and debrief post-visit
- Visit stores to analyze our product mix as well as our competitors
- Resolve merchandise issues with our Distribution Centers, Buyers, and Vendors
