About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community, with a focus on merchandising and processing freight. The role assists with store functions and daily activities, opening and closing procedures as needed, protecting company assets, and maintaining the store according to company standards and policies. It also supports the Store Manager with merchandise receiving and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise, and maintaining an effective sales floor and promotional displays.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Prior retail experience is preferred.
Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other store communications.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, and keeping areas presentable.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
