About The Position
The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, supports store functions and daily activities, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and sales-effective store. The assistant manager also assists the Store Manager with merchandise receiving and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking, and sales-floor planning and merchandising.
Requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Ability to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height, and to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
- Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
- Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
- Help ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
- Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
- Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
- Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
- Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
- Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
