About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager works with the Store Manager to lead store associates and create positive customer experiences. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, while also assisting with store functions and day-to-day operations. The position helps maintain company standards for the stockroom and sales floor, supports safe and secure store operations, and contributes to an orderly, professional environment for customers and employees. The assistant manager also supports the Store Manager with merchandise receiving and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise—including frozen and refrigerated goods—and keeping the sales floor sales-effective. Responsibilities include planning and maintaining Clip Strips and Power Panels and implementing monthly Sales Planners. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, according to productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
