About The Position

As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you’ll join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities served. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight, while assisting with store functions and day-to-day activities. The assistant manager also supports the Store Manager with freight flow, merchandise ordering and stocking, and sales-floor presentation. The listed pay range is $25 to $25.75.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
