About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community, with a focus on merchandising and processing freight. The position assists with store functions and day-to-day activities, including opening and closing procedures as needed, protecting company assets, following policies and safety guidelines, maintaining the stockroom and sales floor, processing corporate directives, and keeping the store clean and presentable. The role also helps ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders. As assigned, the role assists the Store Manager with receiving and returning direct-store-delivery merchandise, managing freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise—including frozen and refrigerated products—and keeping the sales floor sales-effective. It also plans and maintains Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items and plans and implements monthly Sales Planners. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and amicably with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, as assigned.
Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
