About The Position

As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you will join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight, while supporting store operations and assisting the Store Manager with assigned responsibilities.

The position includes maintaining store standards, following company policies and safety guidelines, securing company assets, and creating a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and colleagues. It also involves handling merchandise flow, supporting sales-effective merchandising, and maintaining store cleanliness.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift between 30 and 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and courteously with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated goods, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
