About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing while assisting with store functions and day-to-day activities. It also supports the Store Manager with freight flow, merchandise ordering and stocking, and sales-floor merchandising. The position requires maintaining store standards, following company policies and safety guidelines, protecting company assets, and fostering a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and coworkers.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and pleasantly with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
