About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community, with a focus on merchandising and processing freight. The role supports daily store operations, maintains company standards for the stockroom and sales floor, and helps ensure a safe, clean, respectful, and customer-focused environment. The position also assists the Store Manager with freight flow, merchandise ordering and stocking, sales-floor effectiveness, and merchandising initiatives such as Clip Strips, Power Panels, and monthly Sales Planners. Other related duties may be assigned, and responsibilities may change to meet business needs.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Prior retail experience is preferred.
Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, according to productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
