About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree works with the Store Manager to lead store associates and support positive experiences for the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, assisting with store operations, maintaining company standards, and supporting the Store Manager with merchandise flow and sales-floor effectiveness. The position is full-time and located at 620 W Edison Rd., Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
