About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive customer experiences. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing while assisting with store functions and daily activities. It also supports the Store Manager with merchandise receiving and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise, maintaining a sales-effective floor, and planning and executing merchandising programs. The position includes maintaining store cleanliness and standards, following company policies and safety guidelines, protecting company assets, and fostering a positive, safe, and respectful environment.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, and to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
• Maintain positive, safe, and respectful interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of direct-store-delivery (DSD) merchandise.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
