About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree works with the Store Manager to lead associates and create positive experiences for the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, while also assisting with store operations and day-to-day activities. The position supports a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and employees and maintains store areas to company standards.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
