About The Position

As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you will join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight. You will assist with store functions and day-to-day activities, help maintain store standards, and support the Store Manager with freight, merchandise ordering and stocking, and sales-floor merchandising. Duties may be amended, and other related duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
