About The Position

The Merchandiser supports Imperial’s Market team by delivering and selling refreshments and merchandise while providing World Class Service to customers. The role is based in Joplin, Missouri, and works Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Merchandiser analyzes products using Imperial’s sales analysis tools, stocks and merchandises products, delivers orders, and helps maintain customer satisfaction and sales. The position involves driving a company vehicle, handling packaged food items for public consumption, and using a work-issued phone, tablet, or computer for inventory and ordering.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record acceptable to the insurance carrier.
At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Willingness to travel daily to client or customer sites in all weather conditions while driving a company vehicle.
Ability to work well with people and independently.
Flexibility and adaptability to handle other merchandiser tasks that may arise.
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn.
Ability to communicate challenges that arise.
Ability to lift and load products weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

Analyze products using Imperial’s sales analysis tools to determine customer needs, maximize sales, and reduce spoilage.
Merchandise products to maximize marketing using convenience-store concepts.
Understand and help prevent product shrink and loss.
Design and implement plan-o-grams.
Drive and deliver hot-shot orders to meet customer needs.
Drive a company vehicle and deliver beverages, snacks, pastries, fresh refrigerated food, and other products.
Lift and load products weighing up to 50 pounds on and off the vehicle, with or without assistance.
Use a work-issued phone, tablet, or computer to take inventory and order products.
Arrive on time and be present for scheduled work.
Use independent judgment to maximize sales and meet customer needs.
Work independently while providing high-quality customer service and interacting with customers and clients.
Work closely with operations and Account Managers to maintain high-quality customer service.
Communicate challenges that arise.
