About The Position

The Merchandiser/Cashier greets and assists customers on the sales floor, directs customers to merchandise or a parts specialist when needed, checks out customers, and helps deter shoplifting. The role maintains and stocks the front area, prices and displays merchandise according to company guidelines and planograms, and completes sales preparation. It also supports store inventory tasks, promotional displays, and weekly store tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Good organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Greet customers on the sales floor and help locate merchandise or direct customers needing hard parts to a parts specialist.
Check in, price, and put up stock.
Keep merchandise on the display floor fronted, full, and clean daily.
Make display changes according to company guidelines and planograms.
Make out-front price changes.
Ensure sale signs are in place, the sales flyer rack is stocked, and sufficient sale merchandise is displayed.
Remove sale materials when a sale ends and restore original pricing.
Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
Work with the manager to complete the store To Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
Act as a shoplifting deterrent and provide front-floor security.
Assist with O’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
Clock in and out according to company policy.
Check out customers purchasing front-floor merchandise quickly and in a friendly manner.
Handle customer merchandise returns in a friendly and efficient manner.
When the express lane is not in use and the counter is busy, assist customers by finishing tickets and accepting money, checks, and credit cards.
