About The Position
The Merchandiser/Cashier greets customers on the sales floor, helps them locate products or directs them to a parts specialist, checks out customers, and helps deter shoplifting. The role keeps the front area stocked and merchandise fronted, stocks products according to planograms and displays, and completes sales preparation. Merchandising duties include receiving, pricing, stocking, and displaying merchandise; keeping displays full, clean, and properly priced; implementing display changes and sale signage; assisting with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns; and completing store tasks with the manager. Cashier duties include promptly and courteously processing purchases and returns, and assisting at the counter with tickets and payment when the express lane is not in use and the counter is busy. The position also includes following clock-in and clock-out policy and supporting O’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
Requirements
- Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
- Ability to drive a manual-transmission vehicle.
- Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers on the sales floor, help them locate merchandise, and direct customers needing hard parts to a parts specialist.
- Check in, price, and put up stock.
- Keep sales-floor merchandise fronted, full, and clean each day.
- Make display changes according to company guidelines and planograms.
- Make out-front price changes.
- Ensure sale signs are in place, keep the sales flyer rack stocked, and maintain sufficient sale merchandise on display.
- Remove sale materials when sales end and restore original pricing.
- Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
- Work with the manager to complete the store To Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
- Act as a shoplifting deterrent and front-floor security presence.
- Assist with O’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
- Clock in and out according to company policy.
- Check out customers purchasing front-floor merchandise quickly and courteously.
- Handle customer merchandise returns in a friendly and efficient manner.
- When the express lane is not being used and the counter is busy, assist customers by finishing tickets and accepting money, checks, and credit cards.
