About The Position

Altman Plants is hiring a Merchandiser 1 to work at retail store locations as part of a team and independently. The role involves stocking and displaying fresh plant material, unloading plants from delivery racks, and maintaining a sales-ready appearance for plants and displays. Merchandisers communicate regularly with coworkers, vendors, retail associates, customers, managers, and store personnel. The work is outdoors in changing seasonal weather, and scheduled hours vary with seasonal business needs, weather, and sales demands. The listed schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with Tuesday and Sunday off, a 6 a.m. start time, and 36–40 hours weekly; schedules may change based on seasonal business needs. Requirements

Positive attitude and teamwork skills, with the ability to work unsupervised at times.
Ability to communicate well with customers, coworkers, managers, and store personnel.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.
Comfort working in various weather conditions.
Proof of driver's license and auto insurance.
Reliable transportation to and from assigned stores.
Clean DMV driving record.
Proficiency with mobile apps for clocking in and out and completing tasks.
Frequent standing, walking, carrying, pushing, and pulling; daily pushing of loaded and empty delivery racks; frequent kneeling, stooping, and bending; and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

Stock and display fresh plant material in garden centers from delivery racks.
Help maintain a sales-ready appearance for all plants and displays.
Work and communicate cooperatively with coworkers, vendors, and retail associates.
Remove and dispose of non-sellable plants.
Assist with inventory cycle counts.
Assist with resets, building displays, and special events.
Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
Keep work areas clean and safe.
Use tools such as pallet jacks, pruners, and ladders.
Work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Ensure empty delivery racks are ready and available for pickup.
