The role As a Merchandise Planning Manager, you will lead our Merchandise Planning team reporting to the VP Merchandising, overseeing the team responsible for driving inventory productivity, sales forecasting, and merchandise financial planning. You will partner closely with Buying, Finance, Data and Analytics, and Marketing to ensure inventory investments are optimized throughout the product lifecycle while continuously improving planning processes and tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning, or Inventory Planning, including 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with merchandise planning systems and analytical tools (SQL, Looker, or AI/Machine Learning planning technologies).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced retail or e-commerce environment.
  • Bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Merchandise Planners while setting clear objectives and fostering a collaborative, data-driven culture.
  • Own the pre-season buying budget allocation and manage the in-season OTB (Open-To-Buy) process.
  • Build and continuously improve sales and inventory forecasts using historical performance, market trends, and business assumptions.
  • Develop seasonal and in-season inventory strategies that maximize sell-through and inventory productivity.
  • Evaluate category, brand, and product performance to identify risks and growth opportunities.
  • Produce insightful reporting and dashboards that support strategic decision-making across the organization.
  • Communicate planning insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve planning processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • Champion best practices in forecasting, inventory planning, and merchandise financial planning.
