About The Position

Montréal Bronze is an established supplier of quality valves used in naval marine and commercial shipbuilding applications, as well as the nuclear industry. Montreal Bronze is seeking a hands-on Planning Manager to lead production planning, scheduling, forecasting, inventory planning, and operational performance reporting across the organization. The Planning Manager will be responsible for coordinating demand, manufacturing capacity and material availability to ensure on-time delivery and efficient utilization of company resources. This role requires close collaboration with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and key intercompany stakeholders to develop practical production plans, resolve constraints, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for operational excellence. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys working directly with production teams, leveraging data to improve business performance, and helping build scalable planning processes within a growing manufacturing organization.

  • Experience working with ERP systems for production planning, inventory management, and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and convert information into actionable business insights.
  • Applied attention to detail for reviewing schedules, forecasts, inventory records, and operational metrics.
  • Fluency in French and English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5-10 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, operations, or manufacturing management roles.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience developing KPIs, Power BI dashboards, and advanced Excel-based reporting is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM/APICS), Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing, or similar disciplines are considered assets.
  • Experience working in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment, custom manufacturing, industrial products, valves, pumps, castings, machining, or engineered products is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with forecasting, demand planning, capacity planning, and ERP-driven manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production planning and scheduling activities (including contract review sign-off & material planning) to ensure on-time delivery while balancing labor capacity, material availability, and customer priorities.
  • Develop and maintain the production skyline, providing visibility into workload, capacity requirements, adjusting for engineering change & qualification and delivery commitments across the business.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Hunt Valve/FMD teams to develop forecasts and align production plans with business objectives.
  • Lead the development of integrated planning processes that improve coordination between Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Operations.
  • Monitor inventory, work-in-process, and material availability while proactively resolving constraints that may impact production schedules.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery performance, schedule adherence, inventory levels, throughput, capacity utilization, and forecast accuracy.
  • Create and maintain operational dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, and ERP system data to support data-driven decision making.
  • Work closely with shop floor personnel and department leaders to identify bottlenecks, solve operational challenges, and improve overall manufacturing performance.
  • Lead planning meetings and provide management with clear visibility of production status, risks, recovery plans, and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivery performance, lead-time reduction, inventory optimization, process efficiency, and planning accuracy.
