About The Position

The Merch Manager at Citizens Live at The Wylie will be responsible for leading the artist merchandise sales team within the venue, and will coordinate with tour personnel and venue leadership to ensure an excellent guest experience at the merch stand and maximize sales opportunities for artists. Residents of the Greater Hill District and surrounding neighborhoods are encouraged to apply. We will host a hiring event for residents closer to the grand opening. Details will be announced as they become available.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of retail/merchandise operations, preferably in a live entertainment environment.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, POS, and inventory management systems.
  • Leadership skills to keep store employees motivated and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Must be dependable and team orientated.
  • Must be willing to conduct oneself in accordance with Live Nation standards.
  • Deep understanding of retail administration, store systems, and tools.
  • Good analytical skills with budget, sales data, and expenses.
  • Strong business management knowledge with sales responsibility.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Passion for customer service.
  • Respect all employees and guests.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute business strategies for in-venue merchandising to support and maximize sales.
  • Ensure all merchandise areas are safe, clean and orderly.
  • Maximize the space usage of all merchandise areas.
  • Manage all equipment and inventory for the merchandise department.
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline merchandise staff for the efficient operation of the merchandise department.
  • Organize and conduct pre-shift meetings and communicates pertinent information to employees.
  • Schedule and direct merch staff in their work assignments.
  • Regularly review and evaluate the department, and recommend and implement new operational policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain and increase standards of customer service excellence.
  • Work closely with venue leadership team to ensure successful execution of merchandise sales during all events.
  • Show CARE by participating in the venue’s sustainability program, which could include implementing programs that conserve resources/prevent waste, such as sorting waste, collecting recycling, and educating our fans about our efforts.
  • Handle payroll and tip input for merch staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
