About The Position

Citizens Live at The Wylie is seeking a Venue Security Manager, who will be responsible for the overall management of the security department to ensure guest, employee, artist and venue safety. This position also controls costs and ensures guest satisfaction by guarding, patrolling, and monitoring the premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. Residents of the Greater Hill District and surrounding neighborhoods are encouraged to apply. We will host a hiring event for residents closer to the grand opening. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a live music environment.
  • Working knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and enforcement procedures in an event venue.
  • Ability to work various, flexible hours, inclusive of nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, loud, stressful environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and/or similar software.
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.+ and occasional sitting.

Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures that relate to the security department as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, counsels and disciplines security staff for the efficient operation of the security department.
  • Organizes and conducts meetings and communicates pertinent information to the staff and directs them in their work assignments.
  • Align with Operations Manager on budgetary needs for efficient operation of department.
  • Schedule, assign, oversee, and train security staff and supervisors on duties such as entrance screening, access control, crowd control, monitoring guest behavior, etc.
  • Handle payroll input for security department.
  • Work with Admin Manager to ensure all staffing needs are met for security department.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
  • Moves throughout the venue and all areas to visually monitor and take corrective action when needed.
  • Provide guidance and suggestions for improvement to security team and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Investigates and resolves security complaints.
  • Interacts positively with guests and has a customer-focused approach.
  • Circulates among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Show CARE by participating in the venue’s sustainability program, which could include implementing programs that conserve resources/prevent waste such as sorting waste, collecting recycling, and educating our fans about our efforts.
  • Partner with fellow crew members at the end of show to close the venue—this may include ensuring all guests are gone, removing trash from seated areas and GA floor, breaking down and putting away equipment, and assisting with staff checkout and uniform collection.
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates the department and recommends and implements new operational policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
