About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator at HomeGoods is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, helping Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team, and supporting an excellent customer experience. The role includes coordinating truck deliveries and merchandise flow to the sales floor, training and mentoring Associates, monitoring productivity, and maintaining merchandising, backroom organization, cleanliness, recovery, and safety standards. The Coordinator also communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, supports store programs and compliance, and performs other duties as assigned. The position requires open availability and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing merchandise processing onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
