About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and helping Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and role-modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator helps move merchandise from truck delivery to the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, organizes back stock, and upholds merchandising, signage, cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards. The position also supports store priorities, Associate development, credit and loyalty programs, and shrink reduction efforts.

• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Coordinate with the Coordinator on Duty to maintain efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
• Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
