About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator-Furniture at Homesense is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, keeping the store clean and organized, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor. They train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles, monitor productivity, coach team members, and coordinate priorities and progress with management and Associates. The role also maintains backroom organization, merchandising and signage standards, and compliance with recycling and applicable hazardous-waste programs. Additional duties include supporting store safety and shrink-reduction goals, promoting credit and loyalty programs, and ensuring adherence to labor laws and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and prioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
