About The Position

The Merchandise Associate helps create a positive game-day retail experience for University of Michigan fans. The role focuses on customer service, sales, merchandise presentation, inventory accuracy, and maintaining clean and well-stocked retail spaces. Associates may also help set up event pop-up shops and gift shops, including placing merchandise according to plan-o-grams and cleaning shops and fixtures. The position is located at 711 North University, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

Requirements

Ability to perform the essential duties at the highest levels.
Accuracy when using point-of-sale systems.
Ability to describe merchandise features, benefits, and uses.
Ability to read and implement plan-o-grams.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including sitting, talking, hearing, handling controls, reaching, standing, walking, and stooping.

Responsibilities

Provide a positive and welcoming environment for the team and fans.
Greet guests, determine their interests, and recommend merchandise.
Use point-of-sale systems accurately.
Clean and restock merchandise and complete other tasks assigned by a supervisor.
Present merchandise and recommend add-on items to increase sales.
Explain merchandise features, benefits, and uses.
Stay current on promotions and sales in stores, online, and at events for the MDen.
Maintain inventory, merchandise placement, and accurate counts; assist with inventory.
Build knowledge of products, facilities, and University of Michigan events.
Read and implement plan-o-grams.
Assist with setting up event pop-ups or gift shops, including plan-o-grams, merchandise placement, inventory control, and cleaning shops and fixtures.
Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
