Part Time Merchandise Associate
About The Position
The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. The role adheres to operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs. The associate models positive customer service practices and a store culture grounded in honesty, integrity, and respect. Duties include processing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing and merchandising products, participating in store recovery and cleanliness, supporting shrink reduction and safety programs, and following applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned. The position is part-time at the TJ Maxx store at 20 East Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey. Starting pay is $15.92 to $16.42 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in upkeep of the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
