About The Position

The Temporary Part Time Merchandise Associate at TJ Maxx is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role adheres to operational, merchandising, loss prevention, labor, and safety standards, and may involve cross-training in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The associate supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; accurately handles customer purchases and returns; promotes credit and loyalty programs; processes merchandise for the sales floor; and maintains merchandising, recovery, cleanliness, and organizational standards. The position also supports shrink reduction efforts, participates in safety awareness, and performs other duties as assigned.

The role is temporary and part-time. The starting pay range is USD $15.00 to $15.50 per hour, with actual pay depending on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers.
• Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Work across multiple store areas when cross-trained to support business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
