About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, applying customer-experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role also supports store culture, merchandising, sales-floor recovery, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. Retail customer experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Role-model established customer-experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor accurately, following company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
