Part-Time Merch/Backroom Associate
About The Position
The Part-Time Merch/Backroom Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes supporting store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; accurately processing customer purchases and returns; promoting credit and loyalty programs; processing and preparing merchandise for the sales floor; maintaining merchandising, recovery, cleanliness, and organizational standards; and supporting shrink-reduction and safety programs. The associate provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback, follows labor laws and company policies, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is part-time at the Marshalls store in West Covina, California. Starting pay is USD $16.90 to $17.40 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
- Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to established procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
