About The Position

The Merch Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. Associates promote a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; process customer purchases and returns; promote credit and loyalty programs; and prepare and maintain merchandise and sales-floor displays according to company procedures. They participate in store recovery, cleanliness, safety awareness, and shrink-reduction efforts, provide and accept feedback, and follow applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned. This is a full-time position at the TJ Maxx store in Calcutta, Ohio. The starting pay range is $13.50 to $14.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable service or hours requirements and plan terms.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers.
Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.

Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the company merchandising philosophy and follow merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
