About The Position

Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is hiring a part-time Custodian at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Facility in Syracuse, New York. The position helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Work includes cleaning offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas; floor care; waste removal; dusting; and window cleaning. The custodian safely operates cleaning equipment and may assist with seasonal outdoor tasks such as snow removal, salting, mowing, and edging. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., for 20 hours per week. The work is performed in person at 6001 East Malloy Road, Syracuse, NY 13211. The pay range is $18.38–$19.24 per hour. This position is available to individuals with a documented disability as required to meet federal contract compliance requirements. Requirements

Requires an IEP, GED, high school education, or equivalent.
Experience in grounds maintenance procedures.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Material Safety Data Sheets.
Ability to write simple reports and speak effectively before customers or management.
Ability to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly stand and walk; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; and reach with fingers, hands, and arms.
Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Close vision is required.

Responsibilities

Clean offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
Perform floor care, waste removal, dusting, and window cleaning.
Safely operate cleaning equipment.
May assist with seasonal outdoor tasks, including snow removal, salting, mowing, and edging.
