About The Position

Design West Engineering is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Technology Project Manager for its growing team, based out of the San Bernardino, California, office. The role applies technology design expertise to projects across telecommunications, electronic security, audiovisual, and related systems. The manager works under the supervision of experienced engineers and is expected to complete project designs through all phases, from Schematic Design to Close Out, while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. The position offers a hybrid schedule with three days of in-person work and two days remote.

Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, and Bluebeam Studio.
A bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a Technology Project Manager in technology engineering for telecommunications systems, electronic security systems, and audiovisual systems.
Ability to complete project design throughout all phases, from Schematic Design to Close Out.
Ability to manage 10 or more projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Experience completing specifications.
Working knowledge of California Building Codes and National Electrical Codes, and ability to identify and rectify design code issues.
Understanding of industry best practices for drawings, specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Comfort working in an office environment and performing job site inspections.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adaptability to change.

Nice To Haves

10 or more years of experience as a Project Manager in Technology Engineering.
Proficiency in understanding requirements of various government agencies.
EIT or PE license, or demonstrated progress toward these goals.
RCDD certificate.
Construction Documents Technologist (CSI) qualification.
Experience with electronic security and/or audiovisual systems.
Experience with other technology systems, such as nurse call, Wi-Fi, cellular, or DAS.
Ability to mentor and support junior team members and other Design West Engineering design teams.
Proven track record of innovation and development.
Willingness to accept responsibilities outside the job description.

Responsibilities

Research technical product information.
Conduct or delegate job site inspections to identify existing conditions and assess contractor progress.
Design, coordinate, and engineer systems such as telecommunications, security, network, audiovisual, acoustics, and Wi-Fi.
Prepare drawings, specifications, contract documents, and design calculations using Revit and AutoCAD.
Provide team support, develop tools, improve processes, and share technical knowledge.
Attend and contribute to internal team, discipline, and project meetings.
Work on projects that continuously improve the firm and its design practice.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
