About The Position

The MEP QC / Commissioning Coordinator will lead and manage mechanical quality control processes in accordance with project specifications and federal requirements. This role involves coordinating and supporting commissioning activities across all MEP systems from pre-functional testing through final acceptance. The coordinator will review submittals, shop drawings, and equipment documentation, develop and track QC checklists, inspection reports, and deficiency logs, and collaborate with various project stakeholders. Ensuring systems are properly installed, tested, balanced, and documented before turnover is a key responsibility, as is participating in meetings and walkthroughs. The role also includes assisting in the development of commissioning plans, proactively identifying and resolving quality issues, and supporting system training and turnover to owners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture
  • At least 10 years of commissioning experience
  • 7+ years of experience in MEP construction and quality control
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, controls), with familiarity in electrical and plumbing systems
  • Previous experience supporting or leading commissioning efforts on complex projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on federal or government projects
  • USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or similar credential
  • LEED accreditation or other relevant certifications

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve quality or performance issues proactively in the field
  • Support training and turnover of systems to owners, including O&M manuals and as-built documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, safety, and quality standards
