The Commissioning (Cx) Coordinator plays a critical role in the safe energization and commissioning of electrical infrastructure within mission-critical data center environments. This role supports the planning, coordination, and documentation of energization activities while ensuring compliance with safety procedures, commissioning standards, and project schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field OR: 2-4 years of relevant field experience in electrical, mechanical, controls, or commissioning.
  • Experience working with applications, standards, procedures, and drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with power distribution, standby generation, UPS, PDU, ATS, switchgear, and integrated systems common in mission-critical environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and construction commissioning platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, CxAlloy, Nexus, AutoLOTO, Navisworks, or similar).
  • Strong communication and client-facing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Document commissioning efforts on assigned data center projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution of all commissioning phases (Level 1–5).
  • Work within an integrated commissioning program including standard operating procedures (SOPs), document control workflows, templates, and Cx protocols tailored to mission-critical project demands.
  • Provide technical experience to high-performing commissioning teams, including internal staff and third-party agents, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer expectations.
  • Develop Method of Procedure (EP/MOP) documentation in accordance with First Time Energization sequences, First of Kind inspections, pre-functional and functional test plans, load bank requirements, and integrated systems testing protocols.
  • Act as a team resource for Load Banking and Energization activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, from pre-planning through execution and documentation.
  • Provide commissioning documentation (checklists, redlines, test scripts, issue logs, deficiency tracking, and closeout reports)that is organized, complete, and turned over in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols during all commissioning phases. Coordinate with Safety, QA/QC, and Field Operations to mitigate commissioning risks.
