About The Position

We develop and run Apple’s global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, providing outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world! You will have close coordination with project managers, design team, and design builders from project initiation through the completion of the project. You will also interface with Maintenance Operation Team to evaluate the equipment specified and influence future design and specifications to reduce future costs. Ability to provide due diligence evaluation of project requirement and assist project manager on project initiation as well as building and tenant improvement design to ensure compliance with Apple standards. Review and approve submittments and comment on RFIs Review building systems capabilities and performance including but not limited to equipment schedules and BMS trends. Review project schedules, coordinating building design review process. Troubleshoot and assist with building operation issues. Review Planning Group proposal and disposition of assets. Responsible for updates and training related to Mechanical, Plumbing, Commissioning, and Process Guidelines, and Templates. Technical assistance supporting EH&S, Fire Alarm Protection, Controls, Electrical, and Energy Groups. Assist with the Commissioning Agent selection, review and approve plan and reports. Meet with internal engineering groups, operations and business units to understand project requirements and provide MEP design guidance. Participate in analyzing potential mechanical, electrical, and process piping solutions and provide guidance to design team. Experience with PLC & DDC building management systems with the ability to lead design discussions. Management and oversight of commissioning agents with experience in reviewing sequence of operations and test scripts. Ability to engage site operations team from design to project turn over.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 7+ years of experience in a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction, engineering, or design capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and construction of laboratory facilities.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with a proven ability to partner effectively with project managers, design teams, and operations units at all levels.
  • Highly adaptable and agile, with the ability to pivot quickly and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide high-level technical guidance and strategic recommendations on electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience with PLC and DDC building management systems, including the ability to lead design discussions and review sequences of operations.
  • Experience overseeing commissioning agents, including reviewing and approving commissioning plans and reports.
  • Strong strategic mindset with a commitment to making decisions that uphold the organization's long-term interests, facility standards, and operational excellence.
