About The Position

Foster CM Group is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Inspector for a full-time position in San Antonio, Texas. The MEP Inspector will be responsible for field inspection of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction for commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects. This position requires experience working within complex, active facilities and includes inspection of building systems, utility connections, and site-related MEP work. Responsibilities include verifying installation of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and associated components in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. The ideal candidate will have strong plan reading skills across multiple disciplines, sound construction judgment, excellent documentation ability, and experience supporting large capital construction programs in operational environments. Experience coordinating with contractors, engineers, and utility providers is highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Experience working within complex, active facilities.

  • General understanding of NEC.
  • Reads building electrical drawings.
  • Coordinates with electrical subcontractors.
  • Verifies installation compliance.
  • Witnesses testing.
  • Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected.
  • Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating with contractors, engineers, and utility providers.
  • ICC Mechanical Inspector certification.
  • ICC Plumbing Inspector certification.
  • ICC Electrical Inspector (basic) certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
