About The Position

ATCS is looking for a Construction (Facilities/MEP) Inspector to join our Construction Services team supporting our client, Loudoun County. This individual will be responsible for overseeing a variety of renovation and capital improvement projects across county-owned buildings and facilities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with approved plans, specifications, codes, and contract requirements. The role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as facilities maintenance and construction oversight. The position is 100% on-site, working closely with county stakeholders and project teams, with typical hours of 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of construction, inspection, or building trades experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building systems, safety practices, and contract administration.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management/document control software.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or other relevant construction/project management certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect construction projects for quality, safety, code compliance, and adherence to contract documents.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, tracking schedules, budgets, progress, risks, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate and document required inspections and project activities.
  • Maintain accurate project records, daily reports, correspondence, and status updates.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues, delays, quality concerns, and contract discrepancies.
  • Review contractor payment applications and provide recommendations for approval.
  • Facilitate communication between contractors, architects, engineers, and County stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings, including pre-construction and pre-installation meetings.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance and document deficiencies as needed.
  • Prepare regular project status reports for leadership and stakeholders.
