About The Position

Serves as lead and coordinates all program mentoring activities for program participants per program work plan. Recruits and engages mentors and mentor partners to promote participants’ success in attaining program goals for education and employment. Enhances participants’ ability to access resources available in their communities. This position operates within and contributes to the goal achievement of a work team charged with delivery of participant services including employment, training, education, support, advocacy, and referral services; and accountable for performance, quality, and budgetary compliance.

Requirements

  • Up to three years of training and/or work experience in mentoring, job clubs, training and employment, juvenile justice or other relevant areas, with specific emphasis on the issues of adjudicated youth, unemployed and high school dropout/at risk youth populations.
  • Working knowledge of computers and record keeping.
  • Automobiles, driver’s license, and insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire full knowledge, including eligibility criteria, of all PathStone services locally available.
  • Develop and deliver outreach information sessions for potential participants, mentors and mentor partners, and community members.
  • Travel to areas where mentors and mentor partners are located to inform, recruit and engage individuals.
  • Screen mentors and mentor partners to insure and clarify alignment of individual and program goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with agency representatives, community groups, and area employers to determine employment trends and demands, and to facilitate referrals.
  • Establish and leverage supportive services network.
  • Synthesize participant needs and interests, and program requirements to formulate and implement Mentoring action plans per funder guidelines.
  • Facilitate development of written individual client Mentoring Plan.
  • Coordinate Service-Learning opportunities.
  • Develop and conduct career exploration, cognitive restructuring and other appropriate training.
  • Maintain and monitor complete and accurate records and files on all Mentoring participants.
  • Review and ensure quality of paperwork for mentors and mentor partners.
  • Review monthly MIS reports for accuracy.
  • Compile and submit reports in a timely manner on Mentoring and related activities.
  • Furnish updates on participants engaged in mentoring and related activities in case management records and meetings.
  • Participate in case management as requested.
  • Analyze and interpret mentoring reports and data as well as program results.
  • Attend assigned conferences, seminars and classes in order to maintain and upgrade skills.
  • Enhance personal knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Seek and act upon performance feedback.
  • Coordinate with team to ensure goals and objectives are met; specifically insure Mentoring Rate goal is met or exceeded.
  • Meet assigned program goals; make appropriate corrections to attain deliverables per individual work plan.
