Full-Time Mental Health Worker

This is a Full-Time position within the Merced Crisis Residential Unit (CRU), a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program with a 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59). The program offers rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support services. SBHG currently employs approximately 1,900 people at more than 45 different sites throughout California, serving over 30,000 adults, children, youth, and families annually. Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid California Driver’s License required and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria required
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
- One (1) year of full-time direct care experience preferred OR one (1) year experience of non-professional consumer-directed internship in mental health field preferred.
- Supervision for BBS hours for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals (where applicable).
Responsibilities
- Promotes and assists clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene and grooming and other activity or nursing activities.
- Monitors client’s attendance at assigned activities and maximizes client participation through appropriate motivational techniques.
- Conducts and assists activity groups and community outings independently.
- Encourages client’s interaction and socialization with other peers, providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model.
- Accurately documents in writing each client’s attendance and response to activity and therapeutic groups or individual counseling in the individual medical record.
