About The Position

Founded in 1974, Dignity Health - St. Joseph’s Behavioral Health Center is a 35-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Stockton, California. Serving over 3,000 patients annually, the center offers a full complement of services including behavioral evaluations, a chemical recovery program, and inpatient services. Additionally, St. Joseph’s Behavioral Health Center has been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. One California As our Worker, Mental Health, under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor, you will participate in observing, reporting, and recording of patient behaviors, and help provide a safe and secure therapeutic environment for patients and families. Every day, you may transport documents or patients for the Behavioral Health Center. This position requires providing service to diverse age populations with an understanding of their functional/developmental age. You must fully understand and actively participate in fulfilling our Mission, demonstrating behavior consistent with our Core Values, and supporting our strategic plan and Performance Improvement Plan. To be successful in your role, you will meticulously observe, report, and record patient behaviors, actively contributing to a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for all patients and families. You will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, provide compassionate care across diverse age populations, and exemplify our Core Values, all while supporting our mission and strategic goals within the Behavioral Health Center. Allows for privacy and modesty in the provision of care. Identifies self by name and title to patient/family. Determines presence/type of Advanced Directive. Reports suspected cases of abuse/neglect, if identified. Understands role of, and how to access, the Bioethics Committee. Ensures physical assessment/care includes all major body systems.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • One (1) year direct hands on patient experience as a Certified Nurses Asst or Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting (hospital or LTC) or Six (6) months psychiatric experience and Six (6) months customer service experience
  • Current Driver's License: CA
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
