About The Position
The Mental Health Worker provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Assists patients with activities; attends to the patient behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed. A Mental Health Worker should be compassionate and very patient. Must be even-tempered, can solve crisis and work as a team member.
Requirements

- High school diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of previous work with mental health experience is desired
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Facilitate groups and activities as scheduled
- Provides crisis intervention/assistance as needed
- Completes documentation requirements
- Observe and communicate any changes of condition or behavior to the appropriate charge nurse and nursing supervisor
- Provide 1:1 counseling sessions with residents as behavioral needs require
- Assists with monitoring floor/hallways, and 1:1 monitoring as needed
- Other tasks as assigned
