About The Position

The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt is a 22-bed residential program renowned for its expert care, designed for patients seeking a comprehensive evaluation and intensive treatment experience in a psychotherapeutic milieu. The program operates without third-party payment policies to allow residents to focus on recovery. The Retreat offers an elegantly appointed setting on Sheppard Pratt's main campus in Towson, Baltimore County, for intermediate stays ranging from several weeks to several months. It employs a multi-disciplinary treatment approach for various psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and co-occurring substance-use disorders, in a voluntary, unlocked environment.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED.
  • Must be available to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday).
  • Must be available to attend 7 day mandatory clinical orientation training: Thursday, Friday and the following Monday through Friday (excluding Saturday & Sunday), 8:00am-4:30pm each day.
  • In addition to the 7 day clinical orientation, you will be required to complete a 4 week unit orientation. During this time you will be required to work 3 day shifts per week.
  • A driver’s license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Depending on assignment, must possess valid driver's license at time of appointment and must meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Human Services related degree or past direct care or related experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors.
  • Provide direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of a professional nurse.
  • Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures.
