Mental Health Worker
About The Position
The Mental Health Worker directly influences the safety and security of people who receive services by acting to provide a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures. This action involves regularly communicating observations to the entire team of staff assisting the person. This action also involves requesting additional staff/clinical intervention for people who are receiving services. At times, the Mental Health Worker must act directly to help people who are receiving services to access a higher level of care to obtain needed stabilization.
Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED.
- AHA CPR required before first day of employment
- Must be eligible for a Sheppard Pratt driver's license in order to transport patients as needed. If you have 3 or more points on your driving record you may not qualify for this license.
Nice To Haves
- Human Services related degree or past direct care or related experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors.
- Provide direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of the Program Manager.
- Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures.
