About The Position

Amae Health is hiring a Mental Health Therapist for its Long Beach, California clinic, which is opening soon. The therapist will provide individual and group therapy to adults with complex severe mental illness (SMI), including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I disorder, and treatment-resistant depression. Care is delivered in a high-acuity, in-person outpatient setting through a coordinated model that brings therapy, psychiatry, primary care, dietetics, and community health work together. Patients receive regular support through recovery, primarily in person and occasionally virtually. Onsite supervision is available for clinicians with limited permits. The role includes delivering evidence-based, holistic care; collaborating with patient care teams and behavioral health providers; addressing medical needs that may be affected by social determinants of health; and consulting with therapists on the treatment team, including licensed therapists and trainees. The clinician may also assist with program development. Amae describes its broader work as building a national care delivery model and advancing clinical outcomes frameworks, precision medicine, and tools for coordinated longitudinal SMI care. The position offers a full-time schedule. The stated base salary range is $75,000–$90,000 for associate-level clinicians, based on hours, and $90,000–$115,000 for licensed clinicians, based on experience. A performance-based bonus opportunity is available. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, parental leave, and programs centered on well-being.
